Introduction to machine learning; emphasis on its underlying mathematics. Topics include: feasibility of learning, data representation, gradient descent, regression, over/under-fitting, regularization, neural networks, SVD, and spectral clustering. Prerequisites: MATH 2150 and STAT 3401 or STAT 3502 . ABC/NC grading only.
