MUS 4077 - Jazz Arranging for Large Ensemble

Units: 4
Focus on arranging and orchestration techniques for large jazz ensemble. Study of ensemble scores from the jazz masters and the use of doublings, mutes, voicings, upper-structure triads, and linear harmonization to arrange and compose for big band. Prerequisites: MUS 2033 , MUS 3037 . A-F grading only.
