The Cal State East Bay FAST program provides undergraduate students with an accelerated pathway to a graduate degree. Students in this program pursue a bachelor’s and master’s degree simultaneously. This program allows students to earn graduate credit while in their junior and/or senior year, reducing the number of semesters required for completion of a master’s degree.
Program Policies
-
Up to 12 graduate-level units may double-count between the bachelor’s and master’s degree, as predetermined by the program. Programs may permit the double-counting of fewer units. See the specific FAST program for more information.
-
An East Bay FAST program undergraduate student can take graduate-level courses required for the master’s degree prior to completing their bachelor’s degree.
-
All courses applied toward the master’s degree must lead to a program GPA of at least 3.00; this includes double-counted courses.
Eligibility Requirements
Students may apply to an East Bay FAST Program if they:
-
Are a matriculated undergraduate student at East Bay in a state-side program. (Students in self-support programs are not eligible)
-
Have completed at least 60 units but no more than 90 units
-
Have completed all lower-division GE and lower division major courses
-
Have a minimum GPA of 2.50 (programs may have a higher threshold)
-
Have met other program-specific requirements (e.g., a letter grade in a particular course)
-
Double-majors and second bachelor’s students are not eligible
Interested East Bay matriculated undergraduate students who meet the above minimum criteria should contact the appropriate FAST program advisor to learn more about the process, deadlines, and other requirements. Please see the East Bay FAST Program website for program-specific application requirements, application deadlines, and FAST Advisor contact information.
