The Statistics minor is designed to complement majors in other disciplines to allow students exposure to applied statistical methods. These methods enable students to conduct research in applied fields, broaden employment possibilities, and appeal to graduate schools seeking students with a quantitative background. The minor is very flexible, allowing students from many majors a pathway to this minor that serves their current and future needs.

Minor Requirements (18 units)

Basic Statistics

Choose one (1) course for 3 units from the following:

STAT 100 - Elements of Statistics and Probability Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-2
STAT 110 - Elements of Statistics for Business and Economics Units: 3
STAT 303 - Statistical Methods in Biology Units: 3

Upper Division Courses

Choose five (5) course for 15 units from the following:

STAT 310 - Statistical Methods in the Social Sciences Units: 3
