Muslim Studies Minor

The Muslim Studies minor offers students majoring in another discipline the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of Muslim groups in the United States. The minor explores diversity and justice through the art, thought, politics, and social dynamics of Muslim groups in the United States and the diaspora. This course of study will provide specialized knowledge to become dynamic leaders in arts, education, health, chaplaincy, law, non-profit management, and more.

Minor Requirements (15 units)

Required Courses

The following two (2) courses are required for six (6) units:

ES 395 - Muslims in the Americas Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-UD-D; Diversity
ES 396 - Muslim American Activism: Beyond Islamophobia, Orientalism and Empire Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-UD-D; Social Justice

Electives

Choose three (3) or more courses for a minimum of nine (9) units from the following:
