CS 1020 - Introduction to Computers Units: 4 Computers, their use and place in modern society. Computer organization and hardware, computer software. Introduction to use of the computer, operating system commands, word processing, database management, other applications, and computer programming. Internet and its use. Ethical and societal issues. No prior computer experience necessary; course recommended for students of any major who want to learn about computers and how to use them. Prerequisites: Satisfaction of the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) requirement. Credit Restrictions: Not open to students with credit for CIS 1270.
