BIOL 300W - Writing in the Biological Sciences Units: 3 ; UWR Project-based course focusing on the development of writing skills for clear and effective communication of complex biological concepts and research proposals to various audiences. Must earn C- or better for UWR credit.
Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: University Writing Requirement Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas 1A, 1B, 1C, and 2 with grade C- or better, completion of BIOL 140A and BIOL 140B with grade C- or better, and completion of 60 units or upper division standing. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Effectively communicate in written format complex biological concepts to various audiences;
- Use scholarly resources to locate and evaluate relevant scientific literature in the Biological Sciences;
- Apply scientific processes to formulate hypotheses or research questions, design experimental approaches and data analysis to solve complex problems within the Biological Sciences.
