NURS 606 - Advanced Concepts in Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Health Assessment Units: 3 This course lays the foundation for advanced nursing practice and organizational effectiveness by introducing and reinforcing concepts of advanced pharmacology, pathophysiology and physical health assessment.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Integrate physiology and pathogenesis of commonly encountered diseases across the lifespan and special populations.
- Analyze risk factors, symptomatology, and diagnostic findings to select clinical actions and prioritize interventions.
- Integrate pharmacological principles and research advances in pharmacotherapy to evaluate safety and efficacy of drug therapy for patients with selected illnesses.
- Demonstrate understanding of interprofessional collaboration to facilitate patient management and promote optimal health outcomes.
- Perform a comprehensive health assessment in a concise and systematic manner.
- Critically appraise current academic literature according to evidence-based practice principles and apply decision making skills to formulate and evaluate a plan of care.
