SW 305 - Careers in Social Work

Introduction to the major and to social work careers working with individuals, families, groups, and communities in a variety of settings.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Describe social work, including the values and ethics of the profession, key practice domains, and career options at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
  2. State the requirements for the BSW major and develop an individual plan for meeting them
  3. Assess personal strengths in the context of future social work career goals
  4. Commit to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in social work practice
