FIN 675 - Advanced Investment Techniques and Ethics

Advanced analysis techniques of equities, fixed income, and alternative investments including the portfolio management process, ethics, and regulatory and professional standards.

Prerequisites: FIN 605
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Define the ethical choices and regulatory and professional standards related to portfolio management.
  2. Perform fixed income investment analysis including spot rate-based bond valuation, asset-backed security valuation, and credit analysis.
  3. Perform equity investment analysis including industry, financial statement, DuPont, and technical analysis and forecasting for valuation.
  4. Describe and compare various types of alternative investments.
  5. Describe the portfolio management process including the investment policy statement and performance evaluation measures.
