POSC 310 - Power Moves: Exploring Politics Through Games Units: 3 This course uses strategic games to immerse students in key political concepts such as political behavior and state sovereignty to simulate power dynamics, decision-making, and the complexities of politics.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Critically think about the democratic theories and values as they relate to American politics. This will be achieved through course readings, lessons, and application of course materials during class discussions.
- Gain an understanding of historical and contemporary theories, concepts, and research agenda in political science. This will be achieved through course readings, lessons, and application of course materials during class discussions.
- Develop a deeper understanding of civic engagement in American politics and understanding their political agency in making change. This will be achieved through the gameplaying integrated into course lessons.
