MATH 670 - Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing


Units: 4
This course introduces numerical methods for solving mathematical problems including root finding in one variable, numerical differentiation and integration, numerical linear algebra, and additional topics. Emphasis on theoretical foundations and practical implementation with applications in science and engineering.

Prerequisites: MATH 215 and MATH 300.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Apply definitions and theorems of numerical analysis.
  2. Apply the techniques of numerical analysis to solve problems.
