SLHS 699 - Department Thesis


Units: 1-2
Completion of a supervised research project; includes a written research paper, and oral presentation of methodology and findings-in part fulfillment of the requirements for the M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Approved written proposal by assigned academic advisor required.  Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA. 

Prerequisites: Department consent and graduate student enrolled in the MS Program in Speech-Language Pathology.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: ABC/NC grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Design, implement and complete an approved research project focusing on a topic relevant to Speech-Language Pathology.
  2. Write a formal technical/scientific paper reporting the project Background, Research Question/s, Rationale, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and Future Directions.
  3. Make an oral presentation about the project to an audience of peers, faculty, clinical supervisors and staff in Communicative Sciences and Disorders.
