SOC 492 - Research Methods and Capstone Project Support Units: 1 Additional support and review of sociological theory and methods for students while completing coursework in either research methods or a capstone project.
Co-requisites: SOC 390 and/or SOC 499W Repeatability: May be repeated for a maximum of 2 units. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Students will gain a deeper understanding of the quantitative and qualitative techniques used to complete research projects in Sociology and other social sciences.
- Students will be able to successfully complete their assignments and projects in either Soc 390 or Soc 499W
- Students will develop a relationship with a faculty member teaching in the Sociology Department and become more comfortable working with a faculty member to answer questions, receive advice, and perform research.
