STAT 312 - Data Analysis with Python Units: 3 Introduction to statistical data analysis using Python. Data preparation and transformation, macros, descriptive statistics. Topics from diagnostics, t-procedures, ANOVA, nonparametrics, cross-tabulation, chi-squared, correlation, regression. Report writing.
Prerequisites: STAT 215 Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Cross-listed: DATA 312 Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: 1. apply basic computational skills for exploratory data analysis
2. practice data wrangling techniques such a data cleaning, missing data and merging data
3. analyze data using Python both locally and in the cloud, and to interpret results covering hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, modeling and error analysis, including the use of large data sets.
