TED 584A - Student Teaching 1


Units: 3
Candidates will be placed with a qualified cooperating teacher/district mentor or be the teacher of record to plan, implement and reflect on lessons based on Foundations, Frameworks and Standards for children in PK-3.

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PK-3 ECE Specialist Credential
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: CR/NC grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Develop and teach lessons based on CA Preschool Foundations and Frameworks, as well as CCSS pertaining to early childhood education
  2. Develop proficiency in the California Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs).
  3. Reflect on their teaching practices to develop as a professional educator.  
  4. Implement research-based practices for the development of young children.
