TED 578 - Seminar 2 Units: 2 Exploration of restorative practices, learning environments, best practices in fostering family and community partnerships and reflective practices. Introduction and practice with the Teaching Performance Assessment guidelines.
Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PK-3 ECE Specialist Credential. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply understanding of theoretical foundations of development of children ages birth to eight-years-old utilizing Preschool Foundations, Frameworks pertaining to early childhood education, and CCSS to support the development of the whole child.
- Analyze and reflect on concepts and strategies that contribute to relationships with students, faculty, families, and the child’s community.
- Explore, reflect and evaluate classroom practices, environments, management, and restorative practices.
- Investigate beginning steps of edTPA understanding and other requirements that prepare candidates for teaching young children.
