ITM 445 - Blockchain and Smart Contract Units: 3 Blockchain technologies improve business operations within a wide range of business sectors. As more organizations adopt the technology, blockchain is increasingly becoming a needed skill. This course introduces the fundamentals of block chain technology and its related ecosystems.
Prerequisites: ITM 330 or BAN 310 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall Alternate Years
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Understand the consensus models used in blockchain applications and the advantages over traditional centralized systems.
- Understand the concept and the evolution of smart contracts.
- Understand the major applications built within the smart contract ecosystem.
- Implement developer tools such as Solidity, Python web 3, and Brownie to develop smart contract applications.
