ITM 445 - Blockchain and Smart Contract

Blockchain technologies improve business operations within a wide range of business sectors. As more organizations adopt the technology, blockchain is increasingly becoming a needed skill. This course introduces the fundamentals of block chain technology and its related ecosystems.

Prerequisites: ITM 330 or BAN 310
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous, or Online-Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall Alternate Years


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand the consensus models used in blockchain applications and the advantages over traditional centralized systems.
  2. Understand the concept and the evolution of smart contracts.
  3. Understand the major applications built within the smart contract ecosystem.
  4. Implement developer tools such as Solidity, Python web 3, and Brownie to develop smart contract applications.
