CIVE 440 - Construction Engineering Units: 3 An introduction in project management concepts; topics include roles and responsibilities, delivery methods, work breakdown structure, administrative systems, project control, documentation, quality management, commissioning, and risk management.
Prerequisites: CIVE 330 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Understand the construction process, its delivery methods and the roles of the team members in a project.
- Create estimates and schedules for different types of construction projects.
- Understand the project controls concepts as related to quality and risk management.
- Develop effective communication skills by participating in team-building activities, projects, and role-playing exercises.
