CIVE 440 - Construction Engineering

An introduction in project management concepts; topics include roles and responsibilities, delivery methods, work breakdown structure, administrative systems, project control, documentation, quality management, commissioning, and risk management.

Prerequisites: CIVE 330
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand the construction process, its delivery methods and the roles of the team members in a project. 
  2. Create estimates and schedules for different types of construction projects. 
  3. Understand the project controls concepts as related to quality and risk management. 
  4. Develop effective communication skills by participating in team-building activities, projects, and role-playing exercises.
