STAT 101 - Statistics in Everyday Life Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-B4 Statistics and probability in daily life. Principles of collecting, presenting and interpreting data in order to critically assess results reported in the media; emphasis is on understanding scientific and social studies; understanding probability, risk and odds. Must earn C- (CR) or better for GE credit.
Co-requisites: STAT 101A required for students in Category III and IV. Credit Restrictions: Not open to students with credit for STAT 100, STAT 110 or STAT 303. Not for Statistics major or minor credit.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply basic computational skills in descriptive statistics and visual displays, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals. Understand and interpret results covering descriptive statistics and visual displays, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals.
- Communicate to others results involving descriptive statistics and visual displays, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals.

- Demonstrate a proficient and fluent ability to reason quantitatively;
