NURS 614 - Instructional Strategies and Educational Technology in Nursing

Introduction of teaching/learning principles, instructional methods, and educational technology that facilitate teaching, assessment, and evaluation of nursing students in the 21st century classroom setting. Application of innovative strategies in healthcare education.

Prerequisites: NURS 611.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Analyze the trends in media and technology as they relate to learning on healthcare topics.
Evaluate the benefits and limitations of innovative strategies or technology to nursing curriculum content.
Analyze sociocultural and environmental factors that influence teaching practices and nursing student learning outcomes.
Integration of instructional strategies and /or technology into content based on needs assessment.
Demonstrate proficient skill to implement selected educational technology in teaching nursing courses.
