NURS 613 - Curriculum Design and Outcomes in Nursing


Units: 3
The components of curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation in nursing education. Application of curriculum theory is included. Analysis of program data for continuous improvement is discussed.

Prerequisites: NURS 611.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Analyze historical, current and futuristic contexts of nursing education curriculum design and faculty role.
  2. Apply education evaluation methods for the assessment of curriculum designs and program outcomes.
  3. Integrate theoretical concepts of teaching and learning into the curriculum development and implementation process.
  4. Examine unique aspects of curriculum design for online learning.
  5. Discuss current issues in curriculum development and assessment in nursing education.
