NURS 602 - Introduction to Scientific Research in Practice Units: 3 This course introduces and reinforces the application of scientific inquiry to inform leadership in evidence-based practice to improve patient care.
Prerequisites: Admission to M.S. Nursing program. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Integrate theory, research evidence, clinical judgment, interprofessional perspectives, social and political factors, and the principles of person-centered care, using translational processes to improve practice and associated patient health outcomes.
- Describe the ethical conduct required for scholarly activities in human subjects research.
- Evaluate evidence-based practice guidelines and recommendations.
- Perform rigorous synthesis of evidence derived from scientific databases to generate meaningful evidence for nursing education and practice.
