ES 301 - Black Feminisms Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-UD-D; Diversity Examination of key issues, assumptions, and debates in contemporary, post civil rights Black feminist thought. Highlights pioneering contributions to anti-racist and feminist thought.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area D1-3 requirements. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain the history and evolution of theoretical frameworks associated with Black Feminisms and Black Feminist thinkers (PLO#2)
- Recognize the complexity, heterogeneity of different expressions of Black Feminism/Womanism(PLO #3)
