Preparation for Hospitality, Recreation, and Recreation Therapy majors. Class and career planning for HRT majors. Basic business and professional preparation include basic computer skills, APA style writing, and professional networking. Introduction to Community Engagement.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Identify graduation requirements, including classes and Internships
Participate in an initial service learning project 2. Create and update a personal resume
Articulate a personal mission statement
Write a cover letter
Develop a personal branding/elevator speech
Demonstrate an understanding of business etiquette including dress code and professional decorum
Order business cards
Write an effective business letter/email
Demonstrate an understanding of email/text etiquette

Research and join an industry association
Demonstrate an understanding of basic Word and Excel skills
Create a basic presentation (power point and other platform)
