ENGL 205 - Beginning Workshop in Fiction Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: GE-C1 Introduction to fiction writing with emphasis on the short story. May be repeated once for credit for a maximum of 8 units.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Gain experience in the practice of fiction writing;
- Become familiar with the formal aspects of fiction;
- Cultivate a critical vocabulary for the use in workshop;
- Constructively reinforce revising skills, not only of language but also of ideas;
- Ability to situate oneself within a particular school or schools of fiction.
