ENGR 320 - Engineering Economics


Units: 3
Cost estimations, time value of money, cash flow diagrams, compound interest, economic equivalence, pay back periods, net present values, net annual equivalence, rate of return, depreciations, income taxes, gain taxes, and inflation. Economic analysis and decision making on engineering alternatives.

Prerequisites: MATH 130.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Ability to use engineering economic criteria to evaluate and select  the better  economic alternative;
  2. Ability to improve communication skills through project proposal writing, report writing, and oral presentations.
