BAN 622 - Data Engineering and Business Intelligence Units: 3
Data engineering, data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, design, implementation, and software tools. Topics include, cloud data warehouse architectures, dimensional modeling, data pipelines, business intelligence reporting, visualization and dashboards.
Prerequisites: BAN 610. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply dimensional and NoSQL data modeling techniques to design and construct a data warehouse and data lakes.
- Utilize cloud computing tools to operate and manage data warehouse and data lakes.
- Build data pipelines and ETL scripts to automate data processing.
- Create reports and dashboards with business intelligence software.
