TED 622 - Advanced Studies in Expository Reading and Writing


Units: 3
Critical reading, writing, and analytical skills of transitional kindergarten through grade12 students. Effective and strategic techniques for reading and writing academic prose.

Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. escribe ways teachers in different content areas help students develop content area literacy.
  2. Analyze textbooks and identify supplemental materials that will best meet the needs of all students.
  3. Identify ways that teachers can motivate and engage students by connecting in school and out of school literary practices.
  4. Seek solutions to a self-selected topic related to writing across the curriculum.
