TED 632 - Advanced Integrated Arts & Social Studies in Early Childhood Education Units: 3 Curriculum and instruction for integrated arts and social studies education from birth through 8-years. Focus on visual and performing arts across the curriculum. Family and community cultures. Field component.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Analyze the Arts and Social Studies national, state, and local documents, including, but not limited to, California Preschool Foundations & Framework, Common Core State Standards, NCSS, and NAEYC practices and principles.
- Critically reflect on developmentally and culturally appropriate pedagogy to develop early learning experiences in the Arts and Social Studies.
- Identify methods for creating curriculum that exposes children to traditions and values of diverse communities and engage family support and involvement in children’s art and social studies education.
- Integrate technology as an instructional tool.
