OTL 603 - Technology Tools for Online Instruction Units: 3 Design and construct online environments for teaching and learning. Attention to platform, browser, system differences, and limitations and to synchronous, asynchronous, and web-based delivery systems. Differences among online delivery providers and emphasis on maximum accessibility.
Co-requisites: OTL 601. Possible Instructional Methods: Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Interpret and author HTML at a level appropriate to your experience and background with technology.
- Evaluate popular web tools and create original work using the tools of your choice.
- Explain the requirements and rationale for making electronic information accessible to people with disabilities.
- Evaluate web pages for accessibility to adaptive technologies.
- Evaluate course management systems and select a system to use for your course.
- Determine the technologies to be used in your online course and demonstrate some uses of those technologies.
- Analyze course content in terms of online delivery and presentation techniques.
- Design and develop a unit of instruction in a working course management system.
- Evaluate the work of your peers using both objective project requirements and qualitative feedback.
- Develop strategies for troubleshooting technology problems.
