MATH 230 - Calculus III Units: 3 Vectors, dot and cross products; equations of lines, planes and surfaces; partial derivatives, directional derivatives and gradient vector; optimization and Lagrange multipliers; multiple integrals; vector fields; Stoke’s theorems; applications.
Prerequisites: MATH 131 with grade C- or better. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply definitions, techniques and theorems to solve calculus problems in multiple variables.
- Find the mathematical formulation of word problems using calculus tools such as derivatives, integrals, and optimization.
- Use the calculus techniques to solve the problems in multi-variable calculus and its applications.
