REC 630 - Advanced Data-Driven Decisions in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism


Units: 3
Analysis of current/credible research and quantitative/qualitative data to make informed management decisions about issues impacting hospitality, recreation, recreation therapy, and tourism organizations. Create reports containing visual and written analysis of research/data.  

 

Prerequisites: Department Consent.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  1. Identify sources of current and credible research/data directly related to management of hospitality, recreation, recreation therapy, or tourism organizations.
  2. Discuss evaluation and research methods used to address an HRT industry problem or issue.
  3. Present data analysis findings using visual representations (tables, charts, graphs) and written narratives.
  4. Write conclusions and recommendations based on current research and data analysis findings to explain and justify data-driven management decisions.
