KIN 603 - Psychomotor Aspects of Learning and Performance


Units: 4
Evaluating the impact of human cognition, attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions on motor-skill learning and performance. Emphasis on the importance of evidence-based and contextualized approaches to individual learners, performers, and groups.

Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify cognitive, behavioral, and psychological bases of human movement relevant to motor skill acquisition and performance.
  2. Compare and contrast contemporary theories as they relate to motor skill acquisition and performance.
  3. Analyze environmental and situational factors that can influence individuals’ physical activity choices, motor skill acquisition, and performance.
  4. Develop and implement highly contextualized and evidence-based observation, instruction, evaluation, and feedback methods relevant to motor skill acquisition and performance.
