ENGL 621 - African-American Literature Units: 4 Major African-American works, authors, and literary topics of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Use clear and cogent prose to analyze and interpret recurring themes in selected African American literary texts.
- Articulate key ideas and issues in African American theoretical and critical approaches to literature.
- Develop written literary criticism for an academic audience.
- Work independently with traditional and nontraditional research.
- Share and present ideas, insights, and literary interpretations of literature in a collaborative, collegial environment.
