MM 601 - Seminar in Interactive Art & Design Units: 3 Advanced reading and discussion of the foundational literature, principles and paradigms associated with the study of media art, culture, and communication. Course covers the history, methods and terminology of media art.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Name and explain terminology and principles of media art.
- Describe current directions in media art research and theory.
- Differentiate between Media, Technology and Communication.
- Generalize, compare and give examples of creative works that reflect paradigms and trends in historical and contemporary media art.
- Develop research problems and questions.
- Conceive and create experiences and artifacts in response to research problems and questions.
- Critique works of media art by professionals and students.
