BSTA 662 - Survival Analysis


Units: 2
Applied methods for survival analysis.  Incomplete data, censored, and truncated data, life tables, nonparametric, semiparametric, and parametric methods.  Accelerated failure time models, proportional hazards models, partial likelihood and advanced topics. Data integrity. Computing techniques and analysis of clinical data.  Use of SAS. Report writing.

Prerequisites: BSTA 661.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply appropriate methods to describe and present survival data in summaries, tables and/or graphs.
  2. Formulate solutions to problems and develop statistical models involving survival data.
  3. Program appropriate SAS procedures to produce appropriate graphs, reports, and statistical output.
  4. Communicate results to others regarding survival analysis.
