ART 357 - Interaction Design Studio III : Interactive Immersive Experiences Units: 3 Intermediate level interaction Designers and Fine Artists use a range of techniques, software and tools including sensors, computer-vision, physical computing and electronics to create immersive experiences on multiple screens, or in Virtual, Augmented- and Mixed-Reality, video-projection, touch-screen interactions.
Prerequisites: ART 226 or 255, and ART 356. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate understanding of wire framing and prototyping, concepts of user-testing, and basics of sensor technology and electronics in project development;
- Evaluate a range of techniques to identify and address interaction design problems;
- Explore a range of technology to solve complex interaction design problems with awareness of universal design principles and HCI;
- Produce a research based project proposal and project plan;
- Create an original response to a creative brief or design problem individually and in a team.
