NURS 326 - Pharmacology for Nursing Practice Units: 2 Basic principles of pharmacotherapeutics and characteristics of major drug groups with an emphasis on treatment indications and nursing implications.
Prerequisites: B.S. Nursing major. Co-requisites: All of: NURS 310, NURS 311, NURS 312, NURS 313, NURS 314, NURS 315, NURS 316, NURS 317. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Describe pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of general drug classifications.
- State indications of drugs for management of common diseases and conditions.
- Discuss the contraindications, side effects and adverse reactions produced by specific drugs.
- Apply the nursing process to the use of different pharmacologic agents for the treatment of various disease states
