HDEV 499W - Senior Research Seminar Units: 4; UWR The capstone experience in the major. Design and completion of independent research project on a topic in the field of Human Development. Must earn C- (CR) or better for UWR credit.
Prerequisites: Human Development major. HDEV 401, satisfaction of second composition and junior or senior standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: University Writing Requirement Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate core knowledge in biological, psychological, and social aspects of human development;
- Demonstrate critical thinking ability to identify similarities, differences, and connections among human development perspectives;
- Access information, design and carry out individual and/or group research projects, and present them clearly, logically, and persuasively;
- Thoughtfully reflect on the application of human development knowledge and skills to settings outside the university. Students should additionally be able to apply their knowledge and skills to new and diverse situation outside the university.
