NURS 360 - Transition to Professional Nurse Role Units: 4 This course builds upon previous nursing education and provides an exploration of contemporary healthcare issues for registered nurses transitioning to the professional nurse role.
Prerequisites: B.S. Nursing: Post-Licensure Concentration major. Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Evaluate professional, ethical principles and concepts as they apply to nursing practice.
- Demonstrate proficiency in professional writing.
- Analyze interventions that support health promotion and optimal health outcomes with a focus on older adults.
- Utilize evidence-based resources in nursing practice.
- Use enhanced critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and clinical judgment to address case scenarios in nursing practice.
- Examine competencies and practices that support interprofessional collaboration and promote a culture of safety.
- Explore cultural, genomic, economic, and social determinants of health.
- Demonstrate literacy and competence in healthcare organizational information management systems.
- Identify the role of technology as it relates to nursing practice, administration and healthcare quality improvement.
