BAN 499 - Capstone Seminar


Units: 3
This course requires students to apply business analytics concepts, tools, and modeling skills to deliver comprehensive analysis and provide recommendations for solving challenging scenarios that will be encountered in the business environment.

Prerequisites: BAN 340 and BAN 441
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online Asynchronous or Online Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. identify appropriate quantitative tools and methods to solve business problems;
  2. identify appropriate technology tools to solve business problems;
  3. use data analytics models in making effective business decisions;
  4. employ technology to analyze data and to aid decision-making;
  5. explain analytical results in their project reports and other assignments to people with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  6. Apply their business analytics knowledge and skills.
  7. Develop and implement practical, hands-on solutions to business problems.
  8. Explain ideas and project results with clarity, concision, and precision.
  9. Apply effective team skills to work in a group environment.
