BAN 340 - Machine Learning for Business Applications

Apply machine learning to analyze business data, derive business insights, and facilitate business decision-making. Not for Computer Science credit.

Prerequisites: BAN 315
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid, or Online Asynchronous or Online Synchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. identify appropriate quantitative tools and methods to solve business problems;
  2. identify appropriate technology tools to solve business problems;
  3. use data analytics models in making effective business decisions;
  4. employ technology to analyze data and to aid decision-making;
  5. explain analytical results in their project reports and other assignments to people with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  6. demonstrate understanding of the fundamental concepts of classification and prediction methods involving machine learning algorithm and statistical modeling.
  7. evaluate predictive and classification performance of the models for selection.
  8. use appropriate software in implementing the classification and prediction methods.
