COMM 337 - Podcasting and Radio Units: 3 A supervised laboratory and studio experience in the production and dissemination of non-fiction podcast and radio programming, focusing on production exercises and the creation of original content.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: COMM 312 or COMM 314. Prerequisites: COMM 328. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Conduct research on relevant topics and find appropriate subjects and experts as part of content creation for podcasting and radio;
- Develop, script, record and edit high-quality audio in both pre-recorded & live studio environments;
- Produce a themed multi-segment podcast or broadcast;
- Perform in a creative environment and contribute effectively towards evaluating class content with an emphasis on workplace professionalism.
