MUS 692 - Comprehensive Exam Review


Units: 1-6
Selected readings in consultation with two faculty members in preparation for the Master’s Comprehensive Examination in music. The selected readings and the exams must be consistent with the student’s areas of concentration and approved by the faculty mentors.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Students will demonstrate the ability to complete in-depth research into selected areas within their particular disciplines.
  2. Students will demonstrate knowledge of significant scholarship and/or creative output, consistent with standard graduate level expectations, in their respective disciplines.
  3. Students will demonstrate their mastery via both oral and written means, in the form of papers or other scholarly documents as well as with an oral examination / defense.
