CRJ 485 - Understanding Terrorism Units: 3 Enhance student understanding of terrorism and the common myths associated with terrorism and terrorist organizations. Examine current definitions and perspectives regarding the causes and consequences of terrorism. Criminal justice responses to terrorism will be explored.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Explain what terrorism is from a historical perspective;
- Differentiate between the concepts of extremism and terrorism;
- Define and discuss state terrorism;
- Differentiate between varying forms of terrorism;
- Critically examine emerging trends in terrorism.
