KIN 360 - Aerobics Instructor Training


Units: 2
Skills and knowledge necessary to teach music-based aerobics classes. Fitness assessment, choreography, routines, and music selection. Students gain experience teaching an aerobics class.

Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Recognize and appreciate the benefits of being physically activity (active living) to life-long fitness, health, and wellness.
  2. Identify the aesthetic, creative, personal, social, physical, and cognitive benefits and opportunities accrued by being physically active.
  3. Apply the transferable skills acquired through physical activity to other domains.
  4. Understand the basic principles of effective and safe physical activity participation.
  5. Know the history and fundamental components of a given physical activity.
  6. Appreciate the potential of physical activity in developing personal and social responsibility.
