Breadth Area(s) Satisfied: GE-B1 - Lower Division Physical Science Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - identify the outcomes of atmospheric processes with respect to weather and climate and explain the workings of the atmosphere on local, regional, and global scales,
- identify and describe the hydrosphere, especially with regard to water resources,
- identify and describe the character of biomes across the Earth with regard to climate and how they are changed by human impact,
- identify and explain the nature of soils, with special emphasis on the United States, and the major contributors to soil fertility and degradation,
- identify and explain the character of landforms in various environments and their formative processes,
- explain and describe the interconnections between and among the elements of physical geography that result different land-surface systems.
B1. Physical Science Learning Outcomes - Demonstrate knowledge of scientific theories, concepts, and data about the physical sciences;
- demonstrate an understanding of scientific practices, including the scientific method; and
- describe the potential limits of scientific endeavors, including the accepted standards and ethics associated with scientific inquiry.
