MUS 341 - Basic Conducting Units: 3 Basic techniques of conducting including simple, compound and asymmetrical meters, expression and interpretation through observation and laboratory experience.
Prerequisites: Junior, senior or post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop the skills needed by conductors with an emphasis on physical gesture, score study, and expression.
- Develop inner hearing and interpretation skills.
- Have knowledge of noteworthy conducting scholarship and materials.
- Demonstrate understanding via in-class conducting presentations
