KIN 308 - Psychology of Physical Activity and Performance Units: 4 Theoretical and evidence-based perspectives on psychological factors influencing and/or resultant of participation in physical activity and other learning and performance contexts. Topics include personality, motivation, arousal and anxiety, concentration, and group dynamics. Lecture Units: 3; Lab Units: 1.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of affective, behavioral, and cognitive antecedents and consequences of human movement with an emphasis on optimal learning and performance in physical activity contexts.
- Gain comprehension of how participants’ psycho-social factors can differentially influence learning and performance in physical activity contexts.
- Gain comprehension of how participation in different physical activity learning and performance contexts can influence the psycho-social experience of participants
- Enhance understanding of group dynamics and group processes through hands-on exploration of how true groups form, develop, and perform.
- Increase ability to design and implement highly-individualized approaches to teaching movement skills to a variety of populations.
- Increase ability to effectively lead, or, be a member of a work group
